Intestinal parasites (“worms”) are a threat to your pet and the people in your family. Your pet can pick up parasites in the environment including hookworms, roundworms, giardia, whipworms, tapeworms, coccidia and others. Some of these parasites can be contagious to people as well as to other pets. Annual parasite checks are very important for your family’s health and are highly recommended by the Center for Disease Control. The parasite check requires a small sample of feces from your pet and only takes a few minutes to know the results. Animal Doctors require annual parasite testing for all pets grooming or boarding with us for the safety of our staff and other pets. We also recommend testing for parasites annually with your pet’s vaccine schedule for the safety of your family and pets.
